Bahamas Cruise 2012

On Saturday January 28th, we flew to Miami, FL in preparation for our cruise. We stayed at Marriott Courtyard by the airport. For dinner we went to Catch of the Day across the street from our hotel. We were able to eat outside, which was great for January! The next day we did a few things around the hotel area. We went to a local park and spent as much time as we could outside. For dinner we stayed at the hotel restaurant, Champions, and went out for ice cream. We did not have a car so we were a little limited, but we had fun! The next morning we ate breakfast at our hotel. Then we took a shuttle to the Port of Miami for our cruise on Norwegian Sky.

Our first night at dinner.

Chloe LOVED trying ice cream!!

The girls enjoyed seeing the towel animals when we got back to our room.

At the first port, Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, we went on a Dolphin Excursion. We took a bus with a very informative drive who told us about the island. Then took a boat to Sanctuary Bay where they have 15 dolphins that they have trained.

We went right in the water and could touch the dolphins and they gave us kisses. The girls were not impressed by the cold water, especially when one of them soaked Chloe. Otherwise it was a great experience and very educational.

At night, Hannah had her own "class" that she was able to go to. She LOVED going. One night she came back to the room as a monkey. They had various crafts, games, and activities for the kids to do.

On Wednesday we went to Nassau, Bahamas. We went to a local beach. Unfortunately it was a rainy and cold day but we made the most of it. The girls loved the beach!

Hannah loves to pick up Chloe and "carry her"

One of Hannah's favorite activities was pushing the elevator buttons. She is really good at numbers now.

The final port day we spent at Great Stirrup Cay which is Norwegian's private island. We had a wonderful day there building sand castles and enjoying the beautiful weather.

We took the first tender boat to the island. After lunch Chloe and I went back to the ship for a nap. Andy and Hannah stayed there until the last tender boat came back to the island.

On our last day of vacation, we had a leisurely morning departing the ship. We had tried to see my Grandma who was on another cruise ship but we were not able to find her. We decided to go to the Seaquarium. It was similar to Sea World. They had a couple of dolphin shows, a killer whale/dolphin show, and a sea lion show. There were also feeding times and various presentations that we went to.

The dolphins jumped over a rope in the show.

Then they raised the rope for Flipper to jump over.

This peacock was just walking around.

We loved the Sea Lions show.

The girls had a great time at the park in the Seaquarium. Chloe especially LOVED the slide.
